A big new road called the Shenzhong Link is opening soon. This road connects Shenzhen and Zhongshan, two cities, and it will make traveling between them much faster. Right now, it takes two hours to go from one city to the other, but with the new road, it will only take about 30 minutes.
Businesses near this new road are very excited. They think it will help them grow and become better. Companies that make things like lights or medicines think they can do their work easier and faster because of this road. They will also be able to talk to other businesses and get more people to come work for them more easily.
Some companies in Shenzhen want to build new places to make things in Zhongshan because it costs less money there. They think this new road will help them save money and do a better job.

Businesses near the Shenzhong Link (Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link) are excited. This big bridge will open this month. They think it will help them grow and be successful.
Last week, Shenzhen Daily and other news groups visited the bridge. It is a 24-kilometer project, one of the hardest in the world. The bridge starts at Shenzhen airport and reaches Ma’anshan Island in Zhongshan across the Pearl River. When it opens, the travel time between Zhongshan and Shenzhen will go from two hours to less than 30 minutes.
Three important trade zones in Guangdong—Qianhai in Shenzhen, Nansha in Guangzhou, and Hengqin in Zhuhai—will be connected by the bridge.
Zhongshan Industry Upgrading
In Guzhen Township, Zhongshan, there is a big lighting market called the Starlight Alliance Global Brand Lighting Center. It is known as the “Capital of China’s Lighting Industry.” Since June 2016, it has been a popular tourist spot. The new bridge will bring more visitors from Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Qu Decheng, a leader in the Zhongshan Lighting Appliances Industry Association, thinks the bridge will help Zhongshan’s businesses grow, especially the lighting industry. He says the bridge will make it easier to move people, goods, and money between the cities. Shenzhen is good for innovation and finance, while Zhongshan has more land and lower costs.
Wang Zhongmin, from a biopharmaceutical company in Zhongshan, is happy about the bridge. It will take only 15 to 20 minutes to travel from his office to Shenzhen airport. This will help with hiring, talking to suppliers, and meeting clients.
Shenzhen Business Expansion
Jin Liang, from Shenzhen Smart Drone UAV Co. Ltd., thinks the bridge will lower production costs for technology companies in Shenzhen. Shenzhen companies can set up factories in Zhongshan where land and labor are cheaper.
Kong Bo, from a 3D vision technology firm, also sees benefits. His company is building a factory in Shunde, Foshan. The bridge will make it easy to work in Shenzhen and live in Zhongshan.
